Two gunmen robbed a Brink’s security guard who was delivering $34,700 to a Ralphs Federal Credit Union in Northeast Los Angeles on Tuesday, police said.

No one was hurt and no shots were fired during the 9:05 a.m. robbery at the credit union building at 4811 San Fernando Road West. Two men apparently posing as customers robbed the guard inside the building, said Los Angeles police Detective Jim Barry.

“We’re not sure how they (the robbers) may have known” the guard’s delivery schedule, Barry said. The two men took the guard’s handgun before leaving in a light blue car.

A second security guard waiting in a Brink’s armored truck outside the Ralphs building spotted the vehicle traveling west on San Fernando Road and chased it for a block, Barry said. He lost the car as it entered the northbound Golden State Freeway.
