Automated Tape Library Deal: Odetics, an Anaheim manufacturer of information systems, is supplying its automated tape libraries to Storage Technology Corp. OEM/Indirect for an undisclosed amount.

With the sale, StorageTek in Louisville, Colo., becomes one of at least six companies that have purchased Odetics’ library subsystems. The library subsystems are manufactured by ATL Products, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Anaheim-based Odetics.

“This expands our business base and gives us one more company using our library,” said Odetics’ spokeswoman Holly Barnett. “The fact that they are coming to us and buying our library subsystem is a real vote of confidence from the computer industry.”

Odetics reported revenues of $69 million for its fiscal year ending March 31, a spokeswoman said. Its stock closed Wednesday on the American Stock Exchange at $10.125 per share, up 12.5 cents.

StorageTek, which designs and makes information storage and retrieval systems for computer networks, reported revenues of $1.5 billion last year.
