Profit Improves at Rockwell: The aerospace, automotive parts and electronics divisions of the company showed higher profit, although the newspaper printing press division did not. Overall, the firm reported 20% higher quarterly earnings.
During the April-June quarter, the third in its fiscal year, the Seal Beach-based aerospace conglomerate earned $147.2 million, or 66 cents a share, compared to $122.6 million, or 55 cents a share, in the same period of 1992.
Sales rose from $2.7 billion to $2.8 billion.
Rockwell International stock rose $1.25 to close at $32.25 on the NYSE.
