To promote California agriculture, Heritage Productions is sponsoring a California bounty recipe contest. The grand-prize winner receives a two-week culinary tour of Europe plus $10,000 spending money. The rules are simple: Come up with original recipes for main dishes using California products in one or more of nine categories--processed tomatoes, processed dairy products, rice, prunes, raisins, wine, beef, lamb or chicken. A $10 entry fee per recipe is required. For contest rules and an official entry form, send a stamped, self-addressed business-size envelope to: Heritage Productions, P.O. Box 980213, West Sacramento, Calif. 95798-0213. Deadline is Nov. 31.
