Lockheed Corp. said it had higher second-quarter net income on improved results in its aeronautical systems group and its missiles and space unit.
Lockheed had second-quarter earnings of $94 million, or $1.50 a share, up 17% from $77 million, or $1.24, a year ago. The earnings exceeded a consensus estimate of $1.43 a share from nine analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research.
Second-quarter sales rose 35% to $3.35 billion, from $2.48 billion.
