Tuolumne Film Fest Set for September
The sixth annual Tuolumne County Wild West Film Festival will be held Sept. 24-26 in Sonora, in the heart of Northern California’s Gold Country, celebrating the Sierras foothill region as a film location for some 400 films starting in 1919.
Opening event is an awards gala honoring such veterans of Western movies and TV series as Royal Dano, Robert Horton, Will Hutchins and Marie Windsor.
On Sept. 24 and 25 in downtown Sonora, there will be arts and crafts booths, entertainment with live bands, American Indian dances, cowboy poetry readings, Western food and drink and a continuous presentation of Western films.
Sept. 25 activities at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds also include a gunslinger competition, a barbecue, a rodeo and, in the evening, a country dance.
Information: (800) 446-1333.
