PRO FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : RAMS : Lang to Miss 2-3 Months
Running back David Lang will be sidelined two to three months because of a knee injury suffered in a non-contact drill.
Lang underwent arthroscopic surgery Sunday morning to repair damaged cartilage and chipped bone in his right knee.
“It’s a shame,” Coach Chuck Knox said. “This was probably our best-conditioned athlete, a guy who worked the hardest in the off-season and who was ready to come out here and have a great season for us.”

Cleveland Gary, the team’s starting tailback last season, remains unsigned.
Knox has always expressed an interest in having Gary return, although the front office gave Gary’s agent permission to seek a trade.
Will the injury to Lang change the team’s position on Gary? “It doesn’t change anything,” Knox said. “The situation stays the same. We’re still talking with his guy (agent); we’re still trying to make a deal. . . . I’ve said what our posture is from day one. We want him back here. He’s a Ram.”
