Toyota to Cut Up to 150 U.S. Jobs: Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. plans to eliminate 150 salaried jobs over the next two years through attrition and early retirement. The cuts are related to pressures to cut costs throughout the company, partly because of the appreciating Japanese yen, said Toyota spokeswoman Mona Richard in Detroit. “Let’s just say that the yen has intensified our activities,” she said. TMS now has about 6,900 workers.
