Focus on Entertainment Stocks : Spotlight: New Line Cinema
Industry analysts have ranked New Line Cinema among the leading independent film producers and distributors. The reason for the success? “We have the ability to be lean and agile,” said chairman and founder Robert Shaye. “And you run very fast, but carefully (in this business),” he added. The philosophy seems to have worked. The company more than doubled its first-quarter 1993 revenue and profit has jumped nearly 70%. By all indications, the second quarter should also be a solid performer.
