USA Petroleum Alters Its Moving Plans
USA Petroleum Corp., the independent gasoline retailer that last year announced plans to relocate its national headquarters to Ventura from Santa Monica, has changed its mind and moved instead to Agoura Hills.
“We have nothing against Ventura County--it’s simply that we found a building that’s much better suited to our needs,” said Lyle Schlyer, USA’s general counsel and corporate secretary.
He said the company has purchased a 70,000-square-foot building on Agoura Court, just off the Ventura Freeway. The location is in Los Angeles County, about a mile south of Ventura County.
USA Petroleum is occupying only part of the structure and has several tenants, including Agoura Hills’ city government, Schlyer added.
The change of mind means USA Petroleum now has two properties for sale in Ventura--a downtown building that it originally planned to make its home, and a former refinery on the city’s west side.
