Compaq to Supply Moscow Phone Co.: The computer company said it signed an agreement to supply PCs to Moscow General Telephone Services to automate its telephone operations. Under the agreement, Compaq Computer Corp. will provide more than 200 of its Deskpro/M and ProLinea personal computers, which will be integrated into the phone company’s network this month. In addition, Moscow General Telephone will purchase Novell NetWare and SCO Unix operating systems from Compaq. Currently, Moscow General Telephone, which provides phone services to 15 million customers, charges customers a monthly flat fee, regardless of the number or length of phone calls. The computers will enable it to track customers’ phone usage.
