Hair Salon Customers, Staff Flee Fire
ORANGE — A fire that destroyed a hair salon Tuesday afternoon slightly injured one man and forced four customers and workers to flee to safety, fire officials said.
Mark Gomez, a hair stylist at Cheap Trick Hair Co., suffered smoke inhalation and was treated and released from Chapman General Hospital in Orange after the fire broke out about 5:40 p.m.
“Oh, the smoke,” said Barbara Luna, a manicurist who was buffing a customer’s nails when the fire broke out in the strip mall in the 1000 block of North Tustin Street. “I don’t believe how fast the whole place went up. I kept hearing popping noises” from the intense flames, she said.
