Anaheim : Traffic Delay Likely After Molloy Service
Anaheim officials are advising drivers to avoid the northbound Orange Freeway from about noon to 1 p.m. today because of the funeral procession of Police Chief Joseph T. Molloy.
The procession of hundreds of police cars from throughout the state will begin at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m.
At the conclusion of the service, the procession will leave the church onto Chapman Avenue, where it will proceed east to enter the freeway.
The procession will head north to the San Bernardino Freeway, where it will proceed west to Via Verde Drive and Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Covina, where Molloy will be buried.
The city announced Thursday that a Joseph T. Molloy Scholarship Fund has been established to assist students who wish to become police officers. Donations can be sent to the Anaheim Police Department, 425 S. Harbor Blvd., Anaheim, Calif. 92805.
Molloy, 54, died Tuesday of a heart attack in his police headquarters office.
