CAMARILLO : 2nd Yard Sale to Aid Music Program
A group of Camarillo parents who raise money for the local school music program received such an enthusiastic response to their yard sale last weekend that they have decided to hold an encore performance.
Save Our Kids’ Music will hold a second sale from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the auditorium of Los Primeros Structured School on Ventura Boulevard in Camarillo.
Organizer Reese Copsey said the group raised about $2,000 from last week’s sale and garnered an additional $400 from a car wash held the same morning.
But Copsey said Camarillo residents had donated so many items of furniture, toys and other goods for the sale that many things were left unsold at the end of the day.
Money that Save Our Kids’ Music raises goes to the Pleasant Valley Elementary School District for maintaining the school band program.
