CITY OF COMMERCE : Amtrak Station Opens on L.A.-San Diego Route
A new Amtrak station opened Wednesday in the City of Commerce, between Union Station and Fullerton.
Of Amtrak’s nine daily round trips between San Diego and Los Angeles, four trains will stop at the new station. The train service--dubbed the San Diegan--carries more than 1.5 million passengers a year.
Southbound San Diegan trains are scheduled to stop at the new station at 8:55 a.m., 2:55 p.m., 5:50 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Northbound trains are scheduled to stop at City of Commerce at 6:58 a.m., 7:33 a.m., 5:09 p.m., and 11:23 p.m.
“The new station in City of Commerce is an excellent example of public agencies working together,” said Cindy McKim, deputy director of California Department of Transportation’s rail and transit division.
