Operators of the Huntington Library in San Marino plan to temporarily close the books on their most popular exhibit, a Gutenberg Bible.

The world-famous volume, produced in 1455, will be put in storage for two months after Sunday so renovations can be made to the library’s Exhibition Hall, where a special 10-month exhibit of Lincoln manuscripts will open in October.

A temporary exhibit that will include the Bible, an illuminated manuscript of Chaucer’s “The Canterbury Tales,” published in 1410, and Shakespeare writings from 1623 will open in October, library spokeswoman Lisa Blackburn said Friday.
