LOS ANGELES : Tabloid Data Demanded in Joan Collins Privacy Suit

A Los Angeles judge on Tuesday ordered attorneys for The Globe newspaper to produce financial records for the tabloid in preparation for trial of an invasion of privacy lawsuit brought by actress Joan Collins.

Collins’ $20-million claim against The Globe and the photo news service Sipa Press stems from an article that appeared in the Aug. 21, 1991, edition of the tabloid. Collins alleges the piece, which appeared under the headline “He Tarzan . . . Me Joan!” with a subhead of “Dynasty Star, 58, Bares All for New Toyboy, 32,” paints her in a false light.

The actress was photographed while standing behind some bushes in her private yard--changing clothes, according to her attorney--but the caption says she is “flaunting” her semi-naked body.
