Two additional candidates filed to run for the board of the Oak Park Unified School District board before the Wednesday deadline, raising to seven the number of people vying for three seats.

The latest candidates are R. Kevin Ketchum, who has a property management company, and Jeri Fox, who owns a marketing company with her husband.

They join incumbents Wayne Blasman and Robert Kahn and challengers Tami Lawler, Howard Levy and Wayne Sterling, all of whom filed their candidacies last week. Elections will be held Nov. 2.

Incumbent Pat Kavulic is stepping down after eight years on the school board.

Ketchum, 41, has four children in the Oak Park district. He served on the school board’s budget advisory committee this year.

Fox, 38, has been president of the Brookside Elementary School PTA for two years and has served on several district committees.

The Oak Park school district is one of the few in the county that still conducts off-year board elections. Also on the November ballot will be elections for three seats on the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council.
