PREP GRID ROUNDUP : Calabasas 19, Serra 13
Calabasas is the Spanish word for pumpkin, which seems appropriate considering the way the Calabasas High offensive line carved up visiting Serra in the second half of a nonleague game.
The Coyotes (2-1), who trailed 7-0 at halftime, ground out 242 yards in the second half and rallied for 19 points in the fourth period to win, 19-13.
Calabasas quarterback Ziad Bawarshi’s 47-yard completion to David Wymer set up Bawarshi’s one-yard touchdown plunge that sealed the victory for the Coyotes with 33 seconds remaining.
