ECONOMY
Economy Grew Faster Than Thought: The economy limped through the second quarter at a fractionally stronger pace than was thought earlier, the Commerce Department reported. The 1.9% advance in the gross domestic product was slightly faster than the government’s original 1.6% estimate in July and subsequent 1.8% revision a month ago. While the figure was more than twice the 0.8% advance measured in the first quarter, it was far less than the 5.7% expansion of the last three months of 1992. The GDP represents total output of goods and services within U.S. borders.
