BURBANK : Downtown District Gets a New Name
Burbank Village, the new name for Burbank’s downtown district, sailed through the Burbank City Council, which gave it a stamp of approval without comment.
“Technically, on a district name change like this they don’t have to approve it,” said Gwen Pentecost, executive director of the Downtown Burbank Stakeholders Assn. “But we wouldn’t have wanted to go ahead without their approval.”
In a unanimous 5-0 vote Tuesday night, the council approved the change for the area traditionally referred to as the Golden Mall.
