William Cort; TV, Film and Stage Actor
William Cort, 53, actor who appeared in such television series as “Dallas,” “Golden Girls” and “Murder, She Wrote.” A graduate of the Pasadena Playhouse actors training program, Cort acted in films that included “Dear Heart,” “Navy SEALS,” “Ghost,” “Heathers” and “Elvira, Mistress of the Dark.” On stage, he won the Drama Critics Circle Award for performances in “Butley” and “Hot and Cold.” In February, Cort produced and starred in Tom Stoppard’s play “Rough Crossing” at the Matrix Theatre. His television roles also included the WASP son-in-law on the NBC comedy series “The Montefuscos,” and appearances on “Empty Nest,” “In the Heat of the Night” and “Quantum Leap.” On Sept. 23 in Los Angeles of cancer.
