Book-to-Bill Ratio Drops: The semiconductor industry book-to-bill ratio for the U.S. market declined from 1.08 in August to 1.01 in September, according to the Semiconductor Industry Assn. Bookings in the U.S. market in September were $2.161 billion, down 4% from the $2.250 billion recorded in August. However, September bookings were 28.7% higher than the $1.679 billion posted in September, 1992. The orders are based on a three-month moving average. Semiconductor billings for September were $2.132 billion, up 2% from the $2.091 billion recorded last month. Billings increased 35.5% from the previous September’s $1.574 billion.
