Pop Album Chart : Hits Keep on Moving for Reba

Country singer Reba McEntire is certainly flexing her muscles. Not many artists--country or otherwise--could do as well in their first two weeks with a greatest-hits album. Not only did McEntire’s “Greatest Hits Vol. 2” remain in the Top 10 after debuting at No. 8 last week, it actually moved up three notches to No. 5. Rapper Spice 1 also had a decent second week, with his surprisingly successful album “187 He Wrote”; it entered last week at No. 10 and dropped just four notches to No. 14, indicating it may have staying power. White Zombie’s loony metal album, “La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol. 1,” is on the rise again, jumping from No. 35 to No. 26. Michael Crawford is scoring with his latest collection of romantic music, “A Touch of Music in the Night,” which jumped from No. 54 to No. 39. Mariah Carey’s “Dreamlover” continues its reign as the No. 1 pop single.

* This English duo, still intent on proving that disco isn’t dead, seems to have plenty of disciples. Its latest album of droning dance music debuted at No. 20.
