MEDIA / MARKETING : Irvine’s Foote, Cone Crafts New Ad Campaign; Client Mazda Will Lovett

Lyle Lovett, the offbeat country music star who recently wedded actress Julia Roberts, is narrating a new series of eight Mazda TV commercials. The commercials were created by the Irvine office of Foote, Cone & Belding.
The spots are set in Flat Rock, Mich., home to the U.S. assembly plant that produces Mazda MX-6 sport coupes and 626 sedans. They show real people--”moms and dads, brothers and sisters and best friends”--standing behind the cars they build, is the way Foote, Cone describes the campaign.
