Chat, Not Gossip

I was more than annoyed by a Nov. 5 caption on B3, which stated: “Quality time: Patricia Toledo, left, and Adriene Harris, both of Simi Valley, catch up on a little gossip at the Rancho Tapo Community Park.”

I think had the two individuals been young men it would not have been listed as gossip. I think the two were chatting, communicating, relating to each other, having fun, whatever. I don’t think that because they were young women it needed to be labeled as gossip.
