GARDEN GROVE : Police Vehicles Win Car Show Awards
Police Department officials have announced that two department vehicles recently won awards during the Montclair Police Car Show.
A second-place award went to the department’s mobile command post motor home and a third-place award went to a sports car that is used for patrol work.
The mobile command post is a 42-foot motor home, which was donated to the city by the Strawberry Festival Assn. It was converted to function as an emergency mobile command post and includes computers, a conference room, interview facilities, telephones and radio equipment.
The sports car, which is used by Drug Awareness Resistance Education officers, was seized in a narcotics case last year. It was converted into a police car with donations from the Garden Grove Rotary Club and other community organizations.
The event was sponsored by the Montclair Police Department to raise money for DARE programs.
