1. You’ll have two days to recover.

2. The only parking space left at the mall is two miles from the entrance behind the trash bin next to the Toys R Us pickup door. The walk will do you good. So go ahead, have another piece of pie.

3. Mrs. Fields’ Cookies do not contain any leftover turkey.

4. The photo Santa’s lap is still relatively fresh.

5. The newly hired seasonal help won’t be of any help but they’re still cheerful.

6. Shopping bags, gift boxes, tissue paper and charge account applications may still be available at the register where you make your purchase.

7. It’s permissible to shop for yourself in November. (Next month all purchases have to be debited to the holiday budget.)

8. Since holiday shopping is a chore, anyone shopping on Friday is not responsible for today’s chores of washing and drying all those dirty dishes piling up in the kitchen.

9. Television is a bust. There are no football games or parades on Friday, only an “I Love Lucy Marathon” on KTTV from 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. and haven’t you seen enough “Lucy” reruns to last you a lifetime?

10. Back at the office on Monday, which would you rather say, “I’ve finished all my holiday shopping” or “I baked 65 fruit cakes and sent out 200 cards”?
