Holdup Man at Teller Machine Shot by Police
Officers in a passing Long Beach police car shot and wounded a man after they saw him holding up a customer at an automatic teller machine Monday night, authorities said.
The 20-year old suspect was undergoing surgery at Long Beach Memorial Hospital for a neck wound, hospital spokesman Ron Yukelson said.
Police on Monday night provided no further details of the shooting at Artesia Boulevard and Downey Avenue, except to say there were no other injuries. They did not say whether any money was taken.
