George to Mix Music, Radio Commentary
ORANGE — Combative conservative TV talk show host Wally George will go back to his broadcast roots when he starts a weekly music-and-commentary radio show on Orange-based country station KIK-FM (94.3).
The one-hour program will debut Jan. 9. George said by phone Monday that he and Art Astor (owner of KIK-FM and his off-mike partner in the venture) hope to syndicate the program.
George said he started his professional career at age 14 by spinning records for a radio station in Glendale. The new show, titled the “Wally George Great American Country Show,” will focus on music but also feature live guests.
He will continue to host his weekly “Hot Seat” program for Anaheim-based KDOC-TV Channel 56 and cable network Channel America (reruns of the show air nightly on KDOC).
“Country-Western is the real, true American music,” George said.
