VIEWPOINT / LETTERS : Coverage of Hurley’s Accident Criticized
Poor Bobby Hurley. While he was lying face down in a water-filled ditch with several broken ribs, two collapsed lungs and on the verge of death, The Times has the gall to add to its article on Hurley’s accident that Hurley had been cited for driving under the influence on an earlier occasion. What kind of nonsense is that? Sure, there are a myriad of alcohol-related accidents each year, but, please, next time give the guy the benefit of the doubt.

Two young men in professional sports. Two days, one gun and three unused pairs of seat belts. Message received--I hope.
