Running back Barry Foster, who broke nearly all of the Pittsburgh Steelers’ single-season rushing records last season, will sit out the rest of the season because of an ankle injury.

Foster, out for four games since being injured Nov. 15 against Buffalo, learned Friday after a re-examination that a ligament is detached from the ankle bone. He will have surgery Tuesday.
