In Brief
** 1/2 Tanya Tucker, “Soon,” Liberty. One of the few country veterans who hasn’t been pasture-ized, Tucker has a couple of strong entries on her latest outing. The title tune follows a woman who progresses from victim to victor in exiting a dead-end relationship, and “You Just Watch Me” is the perfect vehicle for Tucker’s don’t-mess-with-me rasp. Few other songs transcend assembly-line sentiments.
New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
