What’s on the Holiday Menus

Special menus are in store for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at some area restaurants. Among them:

Randell’s in Santa Ana is serving a Christmas night four-course turkey dinner, including a dessert of blackberry cobbler with vanilla sauce. The price is $14.95 for adults and $4.95 for children under age 12. Jazz pianist and composer Billy Mitchell accompanies dinner beginning at 8.

Watercolors Restaurant at the Dana Point Resort is offering a Christmas Day buffet from noon to 9 p.m., featuring salads, smoked fish, crab claws, prime rib of beef with madeira sauce, roast turkey and more. The price is $29.50 for adults, $14 for children under 12.

The Westin South Coast Plaza has decked its halls with two dozen larger-than-life characters from “A Christmas Carol.” The statues were created by Mary Zerbst, lead scenic artist for South Coast Repertory Theatre. A band of carolers serenades guests.

The hotel’s Garden Court Cafe will serve a Christmas Day buffet that includes turkey with duck sausage and chestnut stuffing, and roast rack of lamb with Dijon herb crust. The price is $28 for adults, $14 for children 6 to 12, and free for children 5 and under. Tax, tip and drinks are not included in the price.

Cafe Fleuri at Le Meridien Hotel has added dishes to its regular menu for Christmas Eve: consomme of duck with a ravioli of foie gras, roasted young goose with sauerkraut and juniper berry sauce, a yule log dessert. The cost is $27 for three courses and $32 for four courses (plus tax and tip). Children 6 to 12 pay $12, and those 5 and under dine free.

In Restaurant Antoine, also at Le Meridien, special entrees include a braised goose with fruit stuffing, sauteed venison chop with chestnuts, and steamed Chilean sea bass. Prices here are $42 for three courses, $55 for four courses and $65 for five courses. Tax and tip are extra.

The Crazy Horse Steak House will celebrate its 14th anniversary Monday by rolling prices back to those of opening day, 1979. For example, the Wrangler Cut prime rib dinner will be sold for $10.95 instead of $17.25. Diners will also receive a free glass of champagne. The Crazy Horse opens for dinner at 5 p.m.
