Camarillo Man Dies in Ski Mishap
A Camarillo man died Thursday from injuries suffered in what authorities believe was the first fatal skiing accident at Badger Pass in Yosemite National Park, the Associated Press reported.
Joseph Howard Krischke, 41, suffered a head injury Wednesday and was flown by California Highway Patrol helicopter to St. Agnes Hospital in Fresno. He died there before dawn Thursday, park spokeswoman Debi Drake said.
Rangers are investigating the cause of the accident, which occurred while Krischke was skiing with his wife, Drake added.
Records indicate no previous ski fatalities at Badger Pass, Drake said.
