Walnut : Seniors Sought for Patrols
The city is recruiting senior citizens for a volunteer patrol program with the city and the Walnut sheriff’s station.
Volunteers will be issued uniforms and will use a city-owned car and car phone to perform various patrol duties assigned by deputies, including vacation house checks, park patrol and construction site checks.
People 50 or older who can work one six-hour shift each week are encouraged to apply. Volunteers must have a valid driver’s license, undergo a background and fingerprint check, have no felony convictions and pass an oral interview.
To volunteer or for more information, call Deputy Frank Girard at (909) 595-2264 or Rob Wishner at Walnut City Hall, (909) 595-7543.
