Quake Victims Can Ask for Reassessment
Ventura County property owners whose homes or businesses received more than $5,000 in damage in the Jan. 17 earthquake should contact the county tax assessor’s office to have their property reassessed.
Applications for reassessment must be submitted no later than six months after the property was damaged. Here are the numbers for the county assessor’s office:
* From Ventura, Ojai or Saticoy: 654-5000
* From Oxnard, Camarillo or Port Hueneme: 385-8600
* From Santa Paula: 933-8484
* From Simi Valley, Thousand Oaks, Moorpark, Newbury Park or Westlake: 529-2060
* From Fillmore or Piru: 524-4922
* From Oak Park, Agoura, Bell Canyon, Box Canyon, Westlake, Lockwood Valley or Malibu: (800) 660-5474.
