Disease Detection International Inc.: The Irvine maker of products that detect sexually transmitted and other infectious diseases said Tuesday that it has finalized a merger deal with an Irish firm. As part of the agreement with Dublin-based Trinity Biotech, H. Thad Morris, Disease Detection chairman and chief executive, has agreed to step down. He will, however, remain on the corporate board. The pact, which involves a one-for-one stock swap, still needs approval by shareholders and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Disease Detection stock sold for $3 a share on over-the-counter trading Tuesday.
