IN BRIEF : Photography Exhibit Details Movie Palaces
A photographic exhibition featuring historic and contemporary images of 12 Downtown Los Angeles movie palaces will be featured in the Grand Lobby of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, 8949 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills Saturday at 8 p.m.
The Academy will also present “The Golden Era of the Movie Palace,” a two-hour program of film clips, theatrical history and personal appearances by the people who brought the movie palaces to life.
For this presentation, tickets are $6 for the general public and $4 for academy members.
The exhibition will run through April 3 and is free to the public. Viewing hours are Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and weekends, noon to 6 p.m. For more information, call (310) 278-5673.
