Praise for Staff
I want to publicly thank all of the employees, physicians and auxiliary members who gave so generously of themselves Monday, Jan. 17, following the earthquake.
It is a true testimony of commitment and selflessness when those you work with leave their families and homes to come to the aid of those in need.
We were fortunate. The hospital suffered no structural damage. Our emergency generators kicked in immediately. There was no panic. Our staff reacted to the disaster in the most professional way.
Our emergency room saw five times the number of patients as seen on a typical Monday. Physicians in all specialties simply showed up. Not one needed physician or employee was called in to help--they were already here.
