SEA VIEW LEAGUE ROUNDUP : Tayyar’s 30 Help Sailors Top Warriors

Paul Tayyar scored 30 points to lead Newport Harbor to a 79-69 overtime victory against Woodbridge in a Sea View League boys’ basketball game Friday.

The Sailors (12-12, 5-7) made 14 of 15 free throws in overtime. Tayyar was 10 of 10 from the line in overtime.

Ramy Shoukry had 25 points for Newport Harbor. Adam Libby had 12 points for Woodbridge.

In other league games:

University 72, Saddleback 59--Dustin White scored 35 points, including nine three-point baskets, for visiting University (14-9, 7-5). Chris Bradshaw scored 16 points on four three-pointers and Mel Lete added 15 points for Saddleback (9-14, 4-8). Demitrius Zeigler, Orange County’s leading scorer, had 18 points for University.

Santa Margarita 52, Irvine 34--Brendan Mulligan had 13 points and Brad Finneran had 12 for seventh-ranked Santa Margarita (19-5, 11-1). Ryan Corbin scored 13 points for host Irvine (8-16, 3-8).

Tustin 44, Corona del Mar 36--Center David Lalazarian scored 13 points to lead visiting Tustin (17-7, 10-2). Rami Bastani had 13 points for Corona del Mar (12-12, 4-8).
