GARDEN GROVE : Construction to Start on Picnic Pavilion
A groundbreaking ceremony will take place Tuesday to mark the start of construction of a community picnic pavilion in Garden Grove Park.
The structure, with concrete tables, a sink and barbecue pits, is expected to be completed in April. It will be 80 feet in diameter and will be able to accommodate 100 people.
The pavilion will be available to large groups by reservation and to the public on a first-come, first-serve basis without charge.
The project was funded by a $140,000 grant from the county’s Urban Parks Program. The picnic pavilion is east of Atlantis Way and just south of the Atlantis Play Center.
