STUDIO CITY : Left-Turn Lane Installation Delayed
Plans to install a left-turn lane and arrow on Laurel Canyon Boulevard have been delayed due to the Jan. 17 earthquake, city officials said.
Los Angeles City Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky said that the delay should not be long, and that installation of the left-turn lane and arrow will resolve a long-running “internal neighborhood dispute.” Residents of Laurel Terrace Avenue, a small street used as a shortcut to reach Ventura Boulevard, had wanted street access restricted, but those who travel the street as a way to reach their homes did not. The stoplight is seen as a compromise.
The light should be installed within the next month, Yaroslavsky said.
