SAN FERNANDO VALLEY : Metrolink Starts Service to Camarillo, Northridge
Metrolink opened new stations in Northridge and Camarillo on Monday.
The 47-mile Ventura County line, which starts in Moorpark, was extended 11 miles to reach the Camarillo station. The route, on leased freight tracks, runs parallel to the Simi Valley and Golden State freeways.
The Camarillo station has 250 parking spaces. Two inbound and two outbound trains will run daily from Camarillo to Burbank, Glendale and Los Angeles. The station is at 30 Lewis Road at Ventura Boulevard. The Northridge station, at 8775 Wilbur Ave., has 400 parking spaces and will handle 12 trains a day.
