SOUTH COUNTY : Driving Classes for Seniors to Be Held
Driving classes for senior citizens will be held throughout the area this month.
The courses show elderly motorists how to adjust their driving skills as they age. Those completing the two-day course also qualify for car insurance discounts.
Called “55 Alive,” the program is sponsored by the American Assn. of Retired Persons and participants must be 50 or older. Registration costs $8 and advance registration is required.
Those interested in attending must contact the facility where the class is being held. Classes held in South County during February include:
* Wednesday and Feb. 23; 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Capistrano Bay Park and Recreation District offices, 34052 Del Obispo St., Dana Point, (714) 496-4251.
* Thursday and Friday; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Glendale Federal Bank, 24221 Calle de la Louisa in Laguna Hills, (714) 678-7771.
* Saturday and Feb. 26; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Laguna Beach Senior Center in Lang Park, 384 Legion St., (714) 497-2441.
* Feb. 28 and March 1; 8 a.m. to noon, Norman P. Murray Community and Senior Center, 24932 Oso Viejo in Mission Viejo, (714) 348-2063.
