Dramatic Gold Easily Wins Bradbury Stakes
Dramatic Gold, who was not an early nominee for the Triple Crown races, immediately went to the front Wednesday and had no trouble outfinishing the 7-10 favorite Numerous for a two-length victory in the $80,700 Bradbury Stakes at Santa Anita.
The Slew o’ Gold-American Drama gelding, ridden by Corey Black for trainer David Hofmans and owners-breeders John and Betty Mabee, was timed in 1:48 2/5, four-fifths of a second slower than the stakes record.

Chris McCarron, who is Dehere’s regular jockey, won’t be available to ride the Kentucky Derby candidate in the Fountain of Youth Stakes on Saturday at Gulfstream Park. The Santa Anita stewards have suspended McCarron for five days, starting Saturday, for his ride on Hill Pass in Sunday’s San Antonio Handicap.
