From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Ford Announces Recalls: The company is recalling about 16,400 1992 and 1993 Crown Victoria cars used by police, taxi companies and other fleets because of a wiring problem that could cause a fire under the front seats. It is also recalling about 400,000 1993 and 1994 F-Series pickup trucks and Broncos. The auto maker said the vehicles’ front bumpers could be jarred loose because of faulty nuts fastening the bumpers to the vehicles.
