THOUSAND OAKS : PTI Given Business Community Award
PTI Technologies, an aerospace firm in Newbury Park, has been selected to receive the first “Business Showcase Awards,” sponsored by Thousand Oaks and the Conejo Valley Chamber of Commerce to recognize contributions to the community.
“PTI has been here almost 30 years and many people don’t even know who they are,” Thousand Oaks Mayor Elois Zeanah said.
“To me, this is a reason to showcase local businesses.”
Zeanah, who also sits on the chamber’s economic development committee, said she proposed the showcase awards because of the need “to increase communication between businesses and residents. I think we should just crow about what we have here in our own valley.”
Businesses are judged on longevity, contributions to the community, unique character, or how good an employer or neighbor the business is.
Zeanah said she would like to hand out the awards weekly if there are enough outstanding businesses.
Entry forms are available at the chamber or Thousand Oaks City Hall. For information, call the chamber at 499-1993.
