Edison Coach Larry Hirst thought Kroeger was trying to do too much by himself in the Chargers’ Division I-A playoff game against Century, so he benched Kroeger for about two minutes in the fourth quarter. When Kroeger returned, he led the rally, scoring 14 of his 24 points in the quarter. With 12 seconds left in regulation, Kroeger was fouled while making a three-pointer. He completed the four-point play to tie the score. Kroeger made two free throws in overtime and Edison won, 58-57. Kroeger also had 10 rebounds.
* Juan Alvarez and Teak Sato, El Modena, won the 130- and 135-pound classes, leading the Vanguards to the Division I wrestling title.

* Olujimi Mann, Santa Ana Valley, scored 27 points, including the Falcons’ final 11, in a 51-50 victory over Long Beach Jordan in Division I-AA.
