GARDEN GROVE : Free Parenting-Skills Workshops Offered
Ernest O. Lawrence Elementary School will hold three free parenting-skills workshops in March, beginning tonight at 7.
The first meeting will focus on enhancing a child’s self-esteem. Meetings next Tuesday and March 29 will cover topics including setting limits for children, guiding their behavior, and communication between parents and children, said Alan Trudell, spokesman for the Garden Grove Unified School District.
Each meeting will be held in the multipurpose room of the campus, at 12521 Monroe St.
Presentations, which all begin at 7 p.m., will be held in Spanish and English, with translations provided in Vietnamese. Refreshments and child care will be available, Trudell said.
The program is open to parents of children at Lawrence and Dr. Louis G. Zeyen elementary schools and neighboring schools in the district.
